‘Sultan’s health not for speculation’
KUALA LUMPUR: The Regent of Kelantan Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra is exercising great care in his handling of the health condition of the sultan, and he is unlikely to talk about it, sources said.
Sources, who wished to clarify a New Sunday Times report on the ruler’s health, said it was wise for everyone at this juncture not to speculate on it.
“The regent has been briefed on the latest health situation of the sultan, including reports from the medical panel set up by the state government and the Health Ministry. But he does not want to reveal the content of the report,” the source said.
The New Sunday Times reported that the sultan was showing vast improvement after receiving medical attention in the state.
The report quoted a source “close to the royal household” as saying that the sultan’s improvement was a miracle and it was not impossible that he would fully recover.
It is learnt that the regent would have been more than happy if his father has indeed shown improvement, but this was not yet the case.
“The person who said that (the sultan’s health is improving) should have at least produced some evidence or results from the medical report to back up his claim. We at the sultan’s office are surprised, ” he added.
The source advised the media to consult the sultan’s office before publishing anything related to the royal household.
